Media Release: On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, Hattiesburg Police responded to a report of a bicyclist that was hit by a vehicle at 40th and Hardy Street just before 6 p.m. The vehicle, a 2016 GMC Sierra, was traveling north on South 40th, turning on westbound Hardy Street, when a male bicyclist entered the intersection, and was struck. The individual was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the GMC did stop at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
