2023 Hattiesburg Winter Wellness Challenge
Kick off the new year with the Hattiesburg Parks & Recreation 23 for 23 Winter Wellness Challenge! This initiative will help all residents to cultivate new and healthy habits. Track the miles you walk, jog or run between January 6, 2023 and February 3, 2023. Submit your completed log with a total of at least 23 miles by 11:59 p.m. on February 3, 2023. Everyone who completes the challenge will be entered into a drawing for a Parks and Recreation prize package worth an estimated $75. The first 100 people to complete the challenge will receive a Winter Wellness 23 for 23 car magnet. A medal will also be awarded to the person with most cumulative miles logged during the 23 for 23 time frame.
Here’s how it works:
1. Register at https://tinyurl.com/hburgwinterwellness.
2. Log your miles from January 6th to February 3, 2023 on the log sheet sent to you via email or by using a mile-logging app.
3. Submit your miles every Friday between January 13 and February 3, 2023 using the link shared via email or on our social media pages.
4. We will update the top standings every week on Facebook (Hattiesburg Parks and Recreation) and Instagram (hattiesburgparksandrec).
If you are not into running or walking, and prefer to bike, swim, attend fitness classes, etc., you can use the Activity Conversion Chart found at https://tinyurl.com/hpractivityconversionchart to convert activities into miles.
Think the 23 for 23 Winter Wellness Challenge is too easy for you, or maybe you just want to continue the challenge after February 3? Hattiesburg Parks and Recreation is also hosting a Winter Wellness 100 Mile Challenge. This program is open to participants looking to commit to 100 miles in 10 weeks. The challenge begins Friday, January 6, 2023 and ends Friday, March 17, 2023. Miles logged for the 23 for 23 Challenge can also go toward the Winter Wellness 100 Mile Challenge.
All final submissions for the Winter Wellness 100 Mile Challenge are due by 11:59 p.m. March 17, 2023. All participants who complete the 100 Mile challenge will be entered into a drawing for a Parks and Recreation prize package. The first 100 people to complete the challenge will receive a Winter Wellness 100 Mile Challenge car magnet. A medal will be awarded to the person with most cumulative miles logged during the 100-mile challenge time-frame. Register using the same link as the 23 for 23 Challenge (https://tinyurl.com/hburgwinterwellness) and follow the instructions above.
Prizes will be awarded the first week of April.
Both challenges are free to enter. All ages are welcome to participate.
