2023 Pine Belt Pacers Training Program
This initiative consists of a 12 week training plan using Jeff Galloway’s training program combining walk and run intervals to improve conditioning and decrease injuries. This can be done via the app or old fashioned paper. We will meet on Mondays (beginning on March 20) at 6pm at Thames Elementary school. The plan consists of 3 days per week of this training, alternating with cross training in between. The Pine Belt Pacers will lead the group on Mondays and be available to answer questions on the other run/walk training days.
So, why should you participate in this training? Well, you certainly can do it yourselves, without any coaching; however, we have a wide variety of experts on choosing shoes, stretches, nutritional needs, and any other questions that you may have along the way. You will also meet your new best friend and running partner, or in my son’s case, his future wife through this club. 🙂
This training will culminate with your grand finale running the Dog Days 5K on June 10th. We will charge a fee of 20 dollars, and wait….here we go….if you have the highest attendance on the training program for the Monday meet ups, you can win the whole jackpot! If there is a tie, we will split the money between all that tied. That could mean a new pair of running shoes! So, show up on March 20 and let’s get fit! All levels of runners are welcome.
