On Thursday, December 7, 2023, the Hattiesburg Veterans Committee will host a short program to honor Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. The committee will also dedicate the park’s Christmas Tree in honor of the names listed on the park’s pillars.

The program will include a prayer by Father Tommy Conway, the placing of a Christmas Wreath on the monument, “Silent Night” led by Lt. Col. Fred Varnado and closing remarks.

Program representation includes those from the American Legion Post 24 and 225, VFW Post 3036 and 5397, DAV Chapter 62 and the African American Military History Museum.
