South Central congratulates Wesley McLaurin from Admissions on being selected as the Employee of the Month for December 2023. Wesley received many nominations from the health system. One nomination read, “I am nominating Wesley because he is a caring and very helpful person. He loves his job and is always willing to lend a helping hand.”
Wesley is from Mt. Olive Community and resides in Laurel. He attributes his desire to strive for excellence to his parents, Johnny and Barbara McLaurin. Wesley has been employed at SCRMC since August 2020. His daily duties include managing staff members, answering questions regarding issues/concerns, correcting errors, verifying coverage/benefits for patient procedures, and preparing charts for patients’ date of service.
When asked what he enjoys the most about working at SCRMC, Wesley responded, “I enjoy interacting with the patients and my wonderful coworkers.” Wesley was also asked if there was an individual within the organization who influenced his desire to strive for excellence and he stated, “I was trained by the late, Pamela Walls. She inspired me to strive for excellence no matter the circumstances.”
