Laurel Machine and Foundry announces expansions in Laurel

On June 12, 2024, Laurel Machine & Foundry, established in 1904, is one of the area’s oldest employers and one of the oldest manufacturing companies in Mississippi, announced that they will be expanding their operations with a $3,140,500 corporate investment.

According to the Mississippi Development Authority, the expansion will include the construction of a 20,000 square-foot machining facility and a 7,500 square foot warehouse. The project is expected to be completed over the next year and it is expected to create up to seven new jobs over the next three years.

“Laurel Machine & Foundry has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence, innovation and the growth of our local economy. They have secured a reputation as a quality employer and proven to be a loyal supporter of our community. Providing resources and support to existing industry is an important goal for us at the EDA. Working with LMF has been a joy, and we are excited to watch them expand their operations in Jones County,” Ross Tucker, President, Economic Development Authority of Jones County said.
