The Laurel-Jones County Library kicked-off its longstanding and very popular Summer Reading program on Tuesday, June 4th at 1:30 p.m. The event featured story time, bubbles, sidewalk chalk art, door prizes, and a puppet show.

The Summer Reading program is free and open to all area children. Programs take place each Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Laurel branch and every Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ellisville branch.

On Tuesday, June 11, officers from the Laurel Fire Department presented a program on fire safety, emergency preparedness, and offered participants an opportunity to tour a fire engine.

Upcoming events include a magic show with Joey Harris and a Bluey themed party. For more information on the Laurel-Jones County Summer Reading Program, visit the library’s website at https://laurel.lib.ms.us/ or call 601.428.4313.
