2022-2023 Statewide Accountability Results: Laurel School District

Graduation Hat with three starts flying over it two red stars and one white star.

The Mississippi Department of Education recently released statewide accountability results from the 2022-2023 school year. We are pleased to announce that LMSA earned another A rating and ranked #10 in the state, overall, out of 633 schools!

Congratulations to all staff, students, and parents for your hard work and commitment to Laurel High School. It’s because of your resilience that Laurel High School improved its 2023 accountability level from a C to a B. Laurel High School improved proficiency on all four end-of-course assessments. We are proud of our Golden Tornadoes.

Please help us also congratulate the students, faculty, staff, parents, and community in the Laurel School District. Today we celebrate the sustained C rating for the district’s performance in the 2022-2023 school year.  Mississippi’s schools and districts are graded on an A-F scale. The grades are part of the state’s accountability system, which helps teachers, school leaders, parents, and communities know how well local schools and districts serve students. The Laurel School District will continue providing high quality instruction, effective instructional practices, purposeful professional development and support to improve student achievement.
