Forest to Fork: A Mushroom & Forest Harvesting Retreat

05 April 2024

Learn the art of mushroom foraging, indoor growing, and medicinal tincture creation in this all-inclusive, 2-night glamping weekend.

All lodging, meals, workshops, and mushroom-growing materials included.

–What we will be doing:–
Participants will receive a guided walk through the woods with Mushroom Man Tan and Natasha Freeman of Beelightful Homestead where they will help you become more comfortable with foraging for culinary and medical wild mushrooms, plants, and edible flowers. The Mushroom Man will also teach you how easy it is to grow your own mushrooms indoors and provide you with a mushroom grow kit to take home and apply what you’ve learned. Lastly, you will learn how to confidently forage the forest and prepare and/or preserve your findings with foraging expert, Natasha Freeman.

–About your hosts:–
Tanner Hammond is the owner of Mushrooms Man Tan, a mushroom farm based out of Daphne, Alabama. He started as a chef 11 years ago and then stumbled into the fantastic world of mushrooms 3 years ago. Since then Tanner has his own mushroom cultivating, foraging, and mushroom product business with the intention of also spreading his knowledge and joy of cooking!

Natasha Freeman is a lifetime resident of Baldwin County, Alabama who is passionate about foraging medicinal and edible plants. She has dedicated herself to researching native plant edibility and medicinal properties while also taking great pride in keeping this special and rare ecosystem alive. Natasha practices, teaches and aids our community by sharing her wealth of knowledge to help anyone start or expand a healthier life via the many benefits of herbal medicine that plants offer.
