The Jones County Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Economic Development Authority (EDA) of Jones County, proudly celebrated the 2024 Membership Award winners at the Annual Meeting held on Tuesday, October 29th, at the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art. The event recognized the contributions of local businesses and leaders who exemplify excellence, community impact, and dedication to the growth of Jones County.
The awards honored five distinguished recipients across various categories:
Community Champion Award: Dixie Electric
- Randy Smith, General Manager of Dixie Electric, accepted the award on behalf of Dixie Electric for their unwavering support of local charities and hands-on community involvement. Pictured with Terri Knight, Chairman of the Jones County Board of Directors, Randy and his team exemplify a commitment to making a meaningful impact in Jones County.
Service of Excellence Award: Thermo-Kool
- Rand McLaughlin, President & CEO of Thermo-Kool, was honored for leading Thermo-Kool in delivering exceptional customer service for over 64 years. The company’s dedication to a personalized customer experience sets a high standard in the industry. Rand McLaughlin was photographed with Terri Knight during the award presentation.
Woman of Influence Award: Heather Brown, Magnolia State Bank
- Heather Brown, Marketing Director at Magnolia State Bank, was celebrated for her inspiring leadership and her role in supporting community initiatives, including events like the MSB Chili Cookoff. Heather’s commitment to enhancing community connections earned her this distinguished honor. She is pictured with Terri Knight.
Small Business of the Year: The Laurel-Jones County Library
- Karyn Walsh, Executive Director of the Laurel-Jones County Library, accepted the award, recognizing the library as a central hub for family-friendly programs and educational opportunities that enrich the community. Karyn Walsh and Terri Knight are pictured together at the event.
Leadership Award: Betsy Ivey, United Way of the Pinebelt Region
- Betsy Ivey, Executive Director of the United Way of the Pinebelt Region, was awarded for her transformative leadership and strategic vision. Her work has strengthened local partnerships and created meaningful impact throughout the region. Betsy was photographed with Terri Knight.
