[Laurel, Miss – July 25, 2023] – Laurel Main Street is thrilled to announce the newest member of their board of directors, Joseph T. Cole, Area Manager at Mississippi Power. Cole brings with him a wealth of experience in distribution operations management, external relationship building, and brand protection.
As Area Manager in Laurel, Cole is responsible for overseeing day-to-day distribution operations within Laurel and the surrounding areas. He has been instrumental in fostering positive relationships with key stakeholders and in ensuring the success of the company’s operations.
Cole began his career at Mississippi Power in 2003 as a cooperative education student in his hometown of Meridian, MS. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University’s Bagley College of Engineering in 2006 and his Master of Business Administration degree from William Carey University School of Business in 2012.
Aside from his professional accomplishments, Cole is a dedicated member of the Laurel community. He is a graduate of Leadership Jones County and is actively involved in the Laurel Rotary, the Laurel High School CTE Advisory Board, the United Way of the Pine Belt Region’s Board of Directors, and the Jones County Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors.
Cole has been married to his wife Shundral Cole since 2014, and they have two daughters, Harper and Blaire.
