The Hattiesburg Fire Department responded to a house fire Sunday, August 31, on Mobile Street.
Crews were dispatched just after the call came in and arrived on scene within three minutes, locating a two-story home in the 400 block with smoke and flames visible. Firefighters quickly worked to bring the fire under control while additional crews searched the structure to make sure no one was inside.
Once the flames were contained, crews remained on scene to check for any extension into the attic or other void spaces. Fortunately, no injuries were reported to either residents or firefighters.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
