Rustin Volunteer Fire Department to host open house and fire engine push-in

JONES COUNTY — The Rustin Volunteer Fire Department in Jones County is inviting the community to an open house Saturday, Sept. 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its new station.

Visitors will get a first look at the new facility serving the Northeast Jones District and surrounding communities, and the department will officially put its new fire engine into service with a ceremonial push-in. EMSERV Ambulance Service will also be on hand, along with several dignitaries and donors who helped make the project a reality.

Residents are encouraged to come meet the firefighters, tour the station, and celebrate the department’s latest addition to its lifesaving equipment. For more information, contact Chief Thomas “Son” Holifield or the Rustin Volunteer Fire Department.
