f you’re traveling with your own home on wheels, the RV sites at Chesnut Bay are among the best we’ve seen. Full hookups and well-maintained lots made this one of the most scenic campgrounds we’ve visited. Families gathered around picnic tables, golf carts zipped by, and everyone waved like old friends. It’s the kind of place where neighbors become vacation buddies and memories are made around the fire pit.
Tiny Homes with Big Personalities
We kicked off our stay by checking into one of Chesnut Bay’s adorable tiny homes. Pirates Bay Water Park added a huge dose of fun to our trip. This water wonderland features high-speed slides, splash pads, lazy rivers, and everything in between. Kids love the pirate ship play area, while adults can lounge poolside with a snack or cold drink. It’s open to the public too, so even day visitors can join the fun. Don’t forget your sunscreen—you’ll want to stay all day!

No trip to Chesnut Bay is complete without getting out on Weiss Lake—and Weiss Water Sports makes that easy. We had the pleasure of taking a sunset cruise on the lake with owner, Greg Leath.
