Madison family winners on “The Great Christmas Light Fight”

The Rowe family’s home appeared on the episode that aired on December 19. 

When Sheri and John Rowe of Madison started decorating their yard for Christmas 30 years ago when their now-grown daughters were small. It began with a gingerbread house that was just for the girls, yet the display continued to grow each year to the delight of the community.

Today the display features over 200,000 lights and a huge array of inflatables. 

Contacted numerous times by producers of The Great Christmas Light Fight, the Rowes weren’t interested in participating in the televised competition, despite a $50,000 prize to the winner.

They finally agreed to participate, turning in their application. They were selected for the 2023 season. 

The show, hosted by Carter Oosterhouse and Taniya Nayak, in its eleventh season. Four homes from around the country are featured in each episode. The Rowe family’s home appeared on the episode that aired on December 19. 

Folks in the area can see the display on Indian Pines Lane in Madison through December 30.
