There is no shortage of holiday magic across the Magnolia State during December. There are numerous opportunities for your family and friends to get together and enjoy the many traditions that make this season so special. 

Chimneyville Arts Festival, Ridgeland, December 1-2

The Chimneyville Arts Festival is returning for its 47th annual celebration of handcrafted works from craftsmen across Mississippi.

The Craftsmen’s Guild of Mississippi hosts this fantastic shopping experience at the Bill Waller Mississippi Craft Center.

The festival days are December 1st and 2nd from 10 am to 5 pm, and tickets are $10. For more information, visit The Craftsmen’s Guild website

Winter Wonderland, Simpson County campus of Co-Lin December 7-8

Winter Wonderland is coming to the Simpson County Campus of Copiah-Lincoln Community College! Train rides, pictures with Santa and the Grinch, inflatables, food trucks, and more bring the holiday magic for the whole family.

This event is open to the public. Admission is $5, and kids under 2 get in free. Winter Wonderland is open December 7-8 from 5-8 pm. For more information, visit the event’s Facebook page.

Christmas with the Characters, West Point, December 15-17

Celebrate Christmas with the whole family, even the furbabies, at Christmas with the Characters in West Point, Mississippi. Inflatables, holiday treats, story time, snack time, breakfast… come and go, or enjoy the weekend with Snoopy, the Grinch, Frosty, and more! Nativity Presentation, Columbia, December 22-December 23

This is a live nativity presentation like no other. Over 80 volunteer actors from local churches bring the nativity to life at the Columbia Courthouse. The nativity starts with a processional down Main Street at 7 pm and ends with Christmas lights and Fireworks. Bundle up and head down to Columbia for this free event. Countdown to Noon at Lynn Meadows Discovery Center, Biloxi, December 30

If you want a New Year’s countdown with the kiddos and still make their bedtime on New Year’s Eve, then Countdown to Noon at the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center is right up your alley.

This ball drop is set for noon on December 30, with confetti, crafts, and all the playtime to your little one’s content. All of the New Year’s festivities are included with the price of admission.
