The #11 Ole Miss Rebels will be seeking the first 11-win season in program history when they face the #10 Penn State Nittany Lions in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta on December 30th.
The College Football Playoff Committee announced on Sunday that Ole Miss is heading to Atlanta for the Peach Bowl, the second time in the last three years that the Rebels football team under Head Coach Lane Kiffin has been included in a New Year’s Six bowl game.
When the dust settled after a wild conference championship weekend, Ole Miss was ranked #11 in the nation. Penn State is ranked #10.
According to the university, the 2023 Peach Bowl will be the fourth New Year’s Six appearance in the College Football Playoff era for Ole Miss, tying the program for the eighth-most in FBS and the third-most in the SEC behind Alabama and Georgia.
Ole Miss’ only two losses in the 2023 season came at the hands of Alabama and Georgia, the two teams that competed for the SEC championship on Saturday, with the Crimson Tide ultimately claiming the conference crown and moving into the four-team playoff with Michigan, Washington and Texas.
When the Rebels take the field in the bowl game, they will be seeking the first 11-win season in program history. Ole Miss is 12-3 in its last 15 bowl games, including a streak of six straight victories from 2002 to 2013.
Ole Miss’ all-time bowl record stands at 24-15, excluding a vacated victory in the 2013 BBVA Compass Bowl. The Rebels lead the SEC and rank third in the NCAA in bowl win percentage at .632. Elsewhere in the bowl record book, Ole Miss is 15th nationally in bowl wins (24) and 20th in bowl appearances (41).
This will mark Ole Miss’ third appearance in the Peach Bowl, having faced Georgia Tech in 1971 and then TCU in 2014.
The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl is in Atlanta, Georgia on December 30, 2023, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT. The game will be aired on ESPN.
Ticket requests are available now here. The priority deadline to purchase is Friday, December 8 at 5 p.m. All ticket requests will be allocated based on blue priority points to the best available seats in the Ole Miss allotment. In the event demand exceeds the Ole Miss allotment, orders will be reduced based on giving level with the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation.
